Planned Gifts
Including the Library in your estate plans is an easy way to provide support and leave a legacy. Learn more about the variety of ways you can make a Planned Gift via the ECU Planned Giving Office. Bequests, Charitable Gift Annuities, and naming the Library as a Beneficiary of your retirement plans are just a few ways you can leave a Planned Gift to the Library.
If you plan to include the Library in your Will via Bequest, a few sentences in your will or trust are all that is needed to ensure that your wishes are met:. The official bequest language for East Carolina University is: ” I, [name], of [city, state, ZIP], give, devise and bequeath to the Laupus Health Sciences Library and the East Carolina University Medical and Health Sciences Foundation Inc. , [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property] for its unrestricted use and purpose.”
Country Doctor Museum
The Country Doctor Museum honors the work of rural health care providers by collecting, preserving, and interpreting medical artifacts that date primarily from the mid-19th century through the early 20th century. In addition to two 19th century doctors’ offices reconfigured to house the medical collection, the Museum features an extensive apothecary collection, a medicinal herb garden, displays relating to nursing and dental history, and a gift shop. Through guided tours, education outreach and exhibits, the Museum offers insight into the history of rural health care in America.
For more information please contact Anne Anderson, museum curator at 252-235-4165 or andersonan@ecu.edu.
