Naming Opportunities

Naming opportunities include the Rare Book Room, the History Collections, the Learning Commons, Computer Labs, Study Rooms, etc. Gifts made to name spaces within the Library may be used to establish an endowment or they may be utilized for other funding needs as designated by the donor.

Available Spaces

History Collections Reading Room

This beautiful room is the crown jewel of Laupus Library. This quiet, inviting space mimics the appearance of the country doctor of old with breath-taking wood bookcases, chairs, and tables.

Atrium

This two-story glass-enclosed area is the first space that visitors to the library see.

Journals/Book Collection

This area houses the library’s print book and journal collection.

Second Floor Classroom

The second floor classroom is used by health science faculty and students for on-site instruction.

Teleconference Room

The teleconference room on the first floor allows health science faculty to conduct meetings over the internet.

Computer Lab

The computer lab is the technological nerve center of the library. The area is heavily-trafficked by students during library hours.

Special Events Room (1504)

Information Commons

The Information Commons is located on the second floor of the library and serves as the central hub for our librarians to assist students in their research.

Administration Suite (1500)

Conservation Lab

The Conservations Lab is used by our History Department to preserve and conserve historic materials.

Small Conference Room (1517)

This conference room is located on the first floor of the library and is used by library personnel for meetings.

TypeCast Gallery

The TypeCast Gallery is located on the second floor of the library and is home to an exhibition of art from our medical students.

Service Desk

The second floor service desk is the main service point for the library.

Third Floor Classroom (3503)

The newest classroom in the library, 3503 offers a space for up to 30 students to learn in a modern environment complete with a large projection screen.

Casual Reading Area

The casual reading area on the second floor of the library is a recent addition to the library and offers a temporary resting spot for those perusing our popular reading collection.

A/V Model Room

The A/V Model Room area on the second floor of the library is home to the library’s model collection and offers students another quiet area to collaborate in small groups.

Large Study Room

The large study room in 3503 allows large groups of students to collaborate together around a large screen monitor.

Offices

Located on the third and fourth floors of the library.

Collaborative Resource Center

The CRC, located in our computer lab, allows a small group of students to collaborate around a large screen monitor.

Group Study Room (2546)

The group study room on the second floor is adjacent to the A/V Model Room.

Small Study Rooms

Located on the third and fourth floors of the library.

Catering Kitchen

This kitchen serves as a central work area for catering services for events in the Evelyn Fike Gallery.

Reading Room Tables

These tables serve as quiet areas for researchers in our History Reading Room.
