We seek your help in support of the William E. Laupus Health Sciences Library. For nearly 50 years, Laupus Library has served Health Sciences Division students, faculty and staff, and together we have partnered in the amazing transformation of a fledgling health sciences program into a fully developed academic health center. As we approach the fiftieth anniversary of the Health Sciences Library in 2019, we celebrate our history and recognize our challenges....

SAVE THE DATE: Opening Reception for “Visions of Nature” on March 8

Steven Lichti, Information Technology Specialist from the School of Dental Medicine, will present a 2016 Spring Semester exhibit as part of the Art as Avocation series. Entitled, “Visions of Nature,” Lichti will showcase a collection of photography that preserves the beauty of nature captured during his memorable travels. The exhibit will be on display in the Laupus Library 4th floor gallery beginning March 8 and will run through June 1, 2016. Please see attached flyer for more information....

CELEBRATING SCHOLARSHIP: Laupus Library marks 10 years of honoring health sciences authors

East Carolina University’s Laupus Library marked a decade of honoring research and scholarship from across the Division of Health Sciences’ colleges and schools at a Nov. 10 event. Country Doctor Museum brings “History Alive!” on Oct. 17

A daylong celebration at the oldest museum in the nation dedicated to the history of rural health care will be held Saturday, October 17. From 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. the Country Doctor Museum will host its fifth annual “History Alive!” – a family-friendly event that offers visitors a glimpse into the past. Laupus Now Exhibiting an Exploration of Mind-Altering Drugs

Laupus Library is now hosting the national traveling exhibit, “Pick Your Poison: Intoxicating Pleasures & Medical Prescriptions,” through October 31 in the Evelyn Fike Laupus 4th floor gallery. The six-banner exhibition explores factors that have shaped the changing definitions of some of our most potent drugs, from medical miracle to social menace....
