Ideum Touch Table now available at Laupus Library
Laupus Library now offers patrons access to a highly innovative Ideum Platform Touch Table, presently located on the second floor of the library.
The 65” table has a 4K Ultra High Definition display and comes pre-loaded with Windows 10 and internet access. Students, faculty and staff can use any of our databases on the table, including our anatomy-based ones, such as Primal Pictures: Anatomy.tv and Visible Body.
When using 3D virtual modeling applications, users can rotate and zoom in on the images. The library’s anatomical databases provide detailed systematic views of human anatomy for an experience that complements our library’s collection of physical anatomical models.
Still images and other online resources may also be used on the table when group study and large interactive views are desired. The table’s large size easily allows for group collaboration.
In addition to being able to view our library’s subscribed resources, the table allows for software to be custom-developed to include various applications such as online exhibits of materials in our library’s History Collections, customized programs for other 3D virtualization needs, and more.
