Laupus to Host Pet Therapy Animals for Studying Students
After noticing a growing trend with academic libraries hosting therapy animals during exams, Laupus Library decided to join in. Because exam time is very stressful, the library hopes to provide a little relief to students. Joyner library has hosted therapy dogs for many years with great success.
The Pet Therapy program, hosted by members of the Laupus Library User Experience Committee, made arrangements for three dogs to visit the library on December 9th from 5:00-6:00pm, and on December 10th from 10:00-11:00am. Dogs will be available each day on the second floor of the library. A Golden Retriever, Great Dane, and a mixed breed dog will provide a brief escape for those needing a break from studying.
The library wishes students much success on their exams and hopes the dogs will bring a smile to their faces and take away a little bit of the stress, even if it’s for only a moment.
