Your support enriches the heart of ECU’s health sciences

This year, Laupus Library celebrated its 50thyear of service to ECU’s thriving Health Sciences Campus. If you’d like to be a part of the library’s continuing growth and service for the next 50 years, please consider joining or renewing your membership with the Friends of Laupus Library for 2020. Your membership will help fund student study activities, help us to create comfortable research and study spaces for our patrons and sponsor new technologies that ensure our students are prepared to be innovators in their future careers.

Some of our ongoing and new initiatives that your gifts support include the following:                                                                                                                 

  • Access to Technology. We make sure our students have access to the current technologies that will ensure their success. We launched a virtual reality lab, one-button recording studio, and a research visualization hub for presentation and research support this Fall. The spaces are unique to the health sciences campus and available to all ECU students, staff and faculty.
  • History Collections Exhibits. Laupus showcases the rich history of ECU’s health sciences through interpretive exhibits utilizing artifacts and archival materials.
  • Exam Breaks. Laupus continues to host therapy animals and provides coffee, pizza and other snacks to help keep spirits and concentration levels high.
  • Friends of Laupus Library Film Series.The Friends host an educational film series for all ECU students, staff and faculty in the Laupus gallery.
  • Health Sciences Author Recognition Awards.Our annual author event promotes research and scholarship and highlights the achievements of the staff and faculty from ECU’s Health Sciences Campus.

Membership is also offered through payroll deduction for as little as $2.08 per pay period at the Principal Level, $10.41 per pay period at the Distinguished Level or the Special Level for $41.66 per pay period.
