Internship Opportunity in History Collections

Laupus Library History Collections is offering an internship for history undergraduate and graduate students. If you are interested in working in an archive or library someday, or if you just want to learn more about archives, this is a great opportunity for you!

History Collections offers books, artifacts, and archival collections relevant to the history and practice of health care, primarily in eastern North Carolina. Dating back to 1536, the collection contains materials from across the world encompassing the fields of medicine, nursing, allied health sciences, dentistry, pharmacology, public health and domestic health.

The internship is available for the fall semester and will provide you with a variety of experience. As an intern in History Collections, you can:

  • Curate your own exhibit.
  • Process archival collections.
  • Contribute to object description for digital objects.
  • Learn about basic archival preservation and conservation.
  • Assist with events and exhibit installation.
  • Write a blog post about your experiences.

Please be sure to register for the internship class if you are interested in this opportunity.
