Break away for a sweet retreat at Laupus
Laupus Library will be offering its dedicated students an array of opportunities for relaxation and recreation during exams week. The library’s staff hopes students will take a quick break from their studious preparations to ease tension, pressure and anxiety — even if only for a few short minutes.
Starting with the pet therapy program, sponsored by the Friends of Laupus Library, on Wednesday, April 25, Finley, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, will be visiting the library from noon to 2 p.m. followed by Argos, an American Staffordshire Terrier mix, from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Argos will return for another visit on May 2 from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
On Thursday, April 26, Chancellor and Mrs. Cecil Staton will be giving away cookies and coffee from noon to 1 p.m. on the second floor of the library to show their support and continued encouragement of ECU’s committed health sciences students.
An entire day of wellness will be offered on Monday, April 30 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in room 2508, located on the second floor of the library. Meditation activities, coloring books and other options for a brief escape to a relaxing and calming environment will be presented by the Campus Recreation and Wellness staff from the Division of Student Affairs.
ECU Dining Services is also stopping by with its CRAMcart full of free healthy snacks and other goodies throughout the week.
Free coffee and snacks will be ready and available every day on the second floor and special surprises big and small will be provided to students at unexpected times.
