New Exhibit: Desegregating Healthcare in Eastern North Carolina

The Laupus Library History Collections welcomes you to attend the opening of a new exhibit, “”.

This exhibit celebrates Dr. Andrew A. Best and Dr. Milton D. Quigless and their work to dissolve racial barriers in the region’s healthcare centers. It will feature several artifacts from the History Collections and the Country Doctor Museum, including Best’s satchel and microscope and Quigless’ adult scale.

The opening reception will be on Thursday February 16 from 4:30-6:30PM at the Evelyn Fike Laupus Gallery on the 4th Floor of Laupus Library. The curator of the exhibit, Lindsay Canting, will provide a brief history of the two doctors and an introduction to these primary source materials shortly after the reception begins.

This event is free and open to faculty, staff, students, and the public.

The exhibit will run through April 28, 2017.
