New Exhibit: In the Margins
A new Laupus Library History Collections exhibit has been installed near the elevators on the second floor: In the Margins.
This exhibit takes a look at notes, graphs, study guides, and sketches left in the margins of textbooks and in notebooks kept by health professionals while they were still students. Artifacts include a notebook of biological sketches drawn by Lula M. Disosway, who received her medical degree in the 1920s and went on to practice in Fort Yukon, Alaska, and her native New Bern, North Carolina, and a textbook owned and written in by Newsom Jones Pittman, who, after graduating in 1839, opened practices in Rocky Mount and Tarboro.
To learn more about the exhibit and related works, come by the Laupus Library History Collections located on the 4th floor of the library or contact one of the members of the department to schedule a tour or a reference appointment.
