Art As Avocation Series

The Art as Avocation series showcases and celebrates the artistic talents and self-expression of faculty, staff, and students from the ECU Health Sciences.

Within ECU Health Sciences, there are many faculty, staff and students who create art as an avocation while pursing their demanding careers. The opportunity to view the results of such creativity can open new windows of understanding and appreciation for our colleagues and enrich and challenge our understanding of our own humanity.

One or more artists’ works are exhibited in the Evelyn Fix Laupus Gallery for six to eight weeks.

Laupus Library launched the opening of the Art as Avocation series in January of 2012 to showcase and celebrate through a gallery exhibit, the artistic talents and self expression of faculty and staff from ECU Health Sciences. The success of this first exhibit confirmed our belief that our faculty and staff have many artistic talents waiting to be shared. In order to continue this exciting series we would like to extend an opportunity for you to exhibit and assist us in planning future exhibits. Those interested in becoming an exhibitor are invited to submit the artist’s registration form for exhibit consideration.
